Getting Started

At Stonetree, we have all the tools and knowledge to help you get started climbing safely. People of all ages and abilities enjoy climbing at our facility. And remember - everyone was a beginner once, so ask us lots of questions! For those of you who enjoy learning in a structured environment, you can sign up for a Never Have I Ever Bouldered session to receive 1 on 1 instruction and 2 weeks of unlimited climbing. Can anyone climb?

Yes! We have members from all athletic backgrounds, from under 3 years old to over 70.

What equipment do I need?

All you need to start climbing is comfortable clothes for athletic activity and a positive mindset. Shoe rentals are included in all of our pricing, and we have a wide range of sizes for you to use. Please bring socks if you wish to use Stonetree’s shoes. If you are taking a class and using our rope tower, we have harnesses and other equipment that will be made available for use by the class.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

Yes! Everyone needs a current waiver on file. If bringing minors (under 18) please make sure to bring a waiver for the child. Please complete the waiver online before you arrive. If we do not have a valid waiver on file, the individual cannot climb.

Can a grandparent/aunt/uncle/teacher/friend's parent sign the waiver for a minor?

No. Our waivers must be signed by the minor's parent or court-appointed legal guardian. They can be filled out online with a computer or a smartphone

No partner? No problem.

Many people come to Stonetree by themselves. Since we are a bouldering facility, you can climb all you want with or without others.

Is adult supervision required?

Yes. Adult supervision is required for all participants under the age of 12 unless otherwise approved by Stonetree.

Is any experience required?

No experience is required to climb at Stonetree. Our front desk staff can help you get started when you arrive and we offer classes that range the scale of experience.

Is an appointment required to use the gym?

No! We are open from 12pm - 9pm Monday - Saturday, and 12pm - 8pm Sunday. You can always give us a call if you are unsure of our hours: 406-534-0325.

Is there an hourly rate?

No. Our day passes and punches are valid on the day of purchase for all hours that we're open. You may come and go as you please the day of purchase or punch. Feel free to come for a lunch session, and then return for an evening class!

How often are the walls reset?

Our setting team resets one section of wall per week. There are about 10 routes added each week, with the entire gym being turned over in a little over two months. We post a schedule in the gym.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes! Please familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy BEFORE booking any event, youth program, camp, or party.

1) All bookings deposits are non-refundable.

2) Cancellations that take place 2 weeks before your scheduled booking will receive a refund in full.

3) Cancellations that occur with less than 2 weeks notice and up to 24 hours notice before your booking will receive a 50% refund.

4) Cancellations that occur less than 24hrs from the start of the booking or event will not receive a refund.

5) Stonetree holds the right to cancel any programming that does not meet our minimum number of participants before an event. If we are required to cancel, we will do our best to accommodate those customers, or refunds will be paid in full, including deposits.

6) If Stonetree Climbing Center is able to fill the vacated spot or booking, a refund will be issued in full.

7) This cancellation policy is firm and may only be waived for special circumstances. Thank you for understanding and please reach out if you have any questions.
