registration coming soon: Fall Session #1 (2026-2027 School Year)
Session #1 - August 26, 2026 - October 21, 2026
Session #2 - November 2, 2026 - December 21, 2026
Sessions generally run for 7-8 weeks with twice a week practices. We have four sessions per year— two Fall sessions and two sessions after Winter Break.
Why do we do it this way? Because flexibility matters—for kids and for families.
We believe that giving young athletes space to explore other sports, hobbies, and downtime helps create more well-rounded, resilient humans. Plus, it keeps climbing fun and fresh.
Stonetree Climbing Team Options
Ages 7-9
Beginner Climbing Team
Ages 10-13
Intermediate Climbing Team
Ages 14+
Advanced climbing team
Climbers who demonstrate strong climbing ability and model the values that make our community welcoming for all may be offered the opportunity to level up.
While our teams are divided by age, we know that some youth climbers may progress more quickly than their peers. That’s why climbers can be invited to join an older team based not only on ability, but also on their readiness to meet the expectations of that group. Skill is only part of the equation—we also look for maturity, focus, and a commitment to being a positive, respectful teammate.
Expectations of Team Members
As members of the Stonetree Climbing Team, we expect all climbers to uphold the values that make our gym a welcoming and positive space for everyone.
As Team members, you are expected to:
-
Support other climbers on the wall, whether they’re on your team or not.
-
Model respect, kindness, and sportsmanship at all times.
-
Practice awareness of others and help maintain a safe, inclusive climbing environment.
-
Bring your gear, your focus, and your best effort.
-
Team members represent our gym and community. We ask you to be role models for younger climbers and guests.
-
Take care of the space and the people in it.
While climbers are grouped by age, practices are designed to support a wide range of skill levels. Everyone is encouraged to set personal goals, try hard, and grow as both a climber and a teammate.

Benefits of climbing team
Siblings and Parents/Guardians receive a 50% discount off their Day Pass rate when climbing with their participant. This is good throughout the session and does not apply to the 6 & under Day Pass rate. Please let the front desk know that you are using your discount when you check in.
Team participants are members of the gym, which means they can visit the gym outside of practice as much as they would like. This also entitles them to a 15% discount on all merchandise and one free Day Pass per month. All Stonetree members also have access to free classes.
All team members will receive a t-shirt as part of registration (for their first-ever session, not every session). Pro deals on shoes are also available to climbing team members.

CLIMBING competitions
Many of our climbing team members enjoy participating in local and regional climbing competitions, otherwise abbreviated as “comps”. Some climbers only participate in the annual Stonetree Showdown. Others travel to check out other Local competitions. And some compete in qualifying events in order to compete at divisionals or nationals.
*This is NOT a requirement of any Stonetree Climbing Teams.
The following is information for climbers who wish to compete.

These are hosted at most gyms across Montana and beyond. They usually have a fun local flare, climbers are encouraged to climb a lot and are often loudly cheered on by others in the gym.
-
This is a series of competitions across the Montana gyms where points are awarded to crown the Last Best Boulderer in the series. For more info and which events qualify, check out the Last Best Bouldering Series online.
