Why Classes and Why Fitness, as a part of Stonetree?

At Stonetree, we believe that everyone who walks through our doors is a climber—whether you’re tying in for the first time, training for the next grade, or building strength for the sports you love outside. Climbing is at the heart of what we do, but we also know that being a well-rounded athlete takes more than time on the wall.

That’s why our programs are designed to help you engage with new skills, enjoy the process of learning, and find your sense of belonging in a community that pushes, supports, and celebrates one another. From introductory climbing series to strength and conditioning classes that support skiing, running, and biking, our goal is to give you the tools to move confidently—indoors, outdoors, and everywhere in between.

outdoor climbing classes

It might sound counterintuitive—don’t outdoor classes hurt our indoor business? Maybe, but aren’t they worth it? Climbing outside (or training for your outdoor sport) isn’t just about the grade, or the line. It’s about experiencing nature, meeting new people and seeing the world - and what you’re capable of. The outdoors isn’t for everyone, but if you’re curious, we believe it’s worth the try. And when you return to the gym, you’ll bring that energy, perspective, and community right back with you.

Tech Tips 1.0 and Tech Tips 2.0: Dates tBD

Our monthly Tech Tips cover different technical climbing topics each month, giving you a good foundation for learning how to climb outside, or helping you stay connected to the ropes during the cold months. We have both an introductory track (Tech Tips 1.0) and an experienced track (Tech Tips 2.0). Classes are led by experienced instructors and the instructor to student ratio is 1:4, and we ask that you bring the gear that you have so you learn to use it! If you don't have gear for roped, outdoor climbing, you may borrow some by checking with the front desk in advance of the class you wish to attend. Please pre-register for these classes.
