Got unused gear lying around? Tired of stepping over clutter? Clear out your closet to make room for your next pursuit. Bring in your old equipment to trade at Stonetree Climbing Center on October 1, 2026. Then, come shop the swap over the next three days for some new-to-you treasures!
Gear Swap 101— Everything you need to know
From what to bring to listing, payment, and pickup, here’s all the details for our Gear Swap:
WHAT?
Bring your gently used outdoor gear and give it a second life while browsing what others are ready to pass along. Check out what items we accept below:

We will accept:
Bikes and Parts
Skis, Poles, Boots
Boats/ Boating Equipment
Camping Gear
Backpacks and Daypacks
Fishing Equipment
Climbing Gear
Outdoor Clothing and Layers
Hunting Camouflage
A general rule: Bring gear that’s clean, gently used, and ready for a new life in the outdoors with someone else.

We will NOT take:
Guns
Knives
Archery Equipment
Ammunition
Please leave behind: weapons and unsafe items, damaged, stained, broken, and heavily worn items, as well as everyday household items that aren’t related to outdoor recreation.
Stonetree reserves the right to refuse any equipment we see as unfit.
This is a four day event from October 1st -October 4th with designated days for swapping, shopping, and saving. Mark your calendar with the dates below:
DROP OFF AND CONSIGNMENT: Thursday from 12:00PM-9:00PM.
SHOPPING: Friday and Saturday from 12:00PM - 9:00PM.
50% OFF SALE: Sunday from 12:00PM-8:00PM.
When?
Where?
Located at Stonetree Climbing Center: 1222 Bozeman Ave. Helena, MT 59601. Come stop by the gym! Get directions to Stonetree with the map below:
HOW?
Bring clean items in usable condition (must meet our acceptable-items guidelines) and set your price. Learn more details about listing items below:
$1 listing fee per item + 18% consignment fee. You keep the rest.
Acceptable Payments: Cash, Credit Card, Check, Venmo.
A Stonetree Membership is not required to buy, sell, or attend the swap.
Items not otherwise marked, will be sold at 50% off on Sunday.
If you do NOT want your equipment sold for 50% off that’s OK— You have that option too. You can pick up your unsold gear prior to the sale.
Unsold gear must be picked up within one week after the Drop-Off Day (for this year’s swap, that is October 8th). After the pick-up deadline, all unsold items from the swap will be donated locally .

*All Sales are Final— There are no returns, exchanges or guarantees. Please make sure gear is in safe useable condition. Unclaimed items will be donated to local families in need or second hand stores.
